Sound Insulation
Noise is a real issue/ problem. After a fair bit of research, and a significant outlay, I bought a lead blanket for the top of the engine and a full sheet of Noisekiller Vibrasorb for the engine compartment. Half a sheet would have been enough. Lead blanket as fitted (note the cut out for the turbo) 3 years later it has slipped a bit. Vibrasorb matting And it works each helps a bit and we can now have a conversation while cruising along (we cruise at 50mph). It is life-changing. It is from Noise killer group UK fitting of the lead blanket is trivial, exact size is irrelevant. Vibrasorb matting is also easy to fit. However the inside of the engine housing was tricky to reach and hard (impossible) to clean well enough for the self adhesive material to stick. Oh.... and karen bought noise cancelling headphones as well. And then... for £12... she bought a 12V cooling fan that makes more noise than the engine ever did.
